Hi everyone,
I have just submitted my work for the second semester and during the time I have before the third semester, why not create something?
I decided to make a small prototype of a game where the player is one of those controllable vacuum cleaners (e.g. Roomba). The cleaner would inhale items once you come into contact with them. This is a working idea I have so far but it's a working idea which can be developed further if I feel interested to work on it.
The prototype would be created with Unreal 4.26 but with a focus on C++.
I do know how to code in C++ but since I'm doing it with Unreal's framework and I have not done anything much with C++, this will be a bit difficult.
I am a C# based programmer so while this will be a big mountain to climb, this will help me get more acquainted with C++ and aim to improve my skills.
So far, I have managed to get my player to move, albeit with a slight rotation when moving left or right and moving back.
The next day, I will aim to make the movement the way a Roomba would move and also make sure the camera is adjusted to a top-down position.
